Saving Money In Houston- 10 Super Easy Ways

Hi Y'all.

If you are anything like me, you like to save money. Cents add up to dollars, dollars add up to ten, twenty, even 100 dollars saved. Read on to learn more ways to save money in the Houston, TX area.

1. Take broken silver and gold jewelry to your local pawn or gold buyers store. They are everywhere in Houston. I recently received $35.00 for broken jewelry and earrings that I only had one of because the other was lost or broken.

2. Take nice clothes or clothes you have worn very little to a Resale shop. Again, there are many in the area. Type your neighborhood and the word "Resale" into Yelp.com and you will find reviews for the closest Resale shops to your neighborhood in Houston.

3. Check the grocery store ads in your paper or online every WEDNESDAY! Prices change on Wednesdays. Last week peaches were only 68 cents at Randalls.

4. Check your car, closet floor, pockets, washing machine, dryer, sofa cushions, and other places for change. It adds up quickly. Roll the coins so you don't lose money at Coinstar and take to your personal banking center or credit union. If you do use Coinstar, you can donate your money to local charities or put your change on a gift card and not lose any money. Good investment!

5. Post a Craigslist ad for odd jobs such a lawn mowing or pet walk. PLEASE be wise about this though. Make sure you interview the person interested at a public place and tell someone you are going there. Check in with them via text or phone once you leave.

6. Let your friends and family know via facebook and e-mail that you are looking for part-time work or odd jobs. Fill them in with what you want to do.

7. Sign up with Fiverr.com and post jobs you are willing to do for $5.00. Jobs include advertising, writing, etc.

8. Sign up with Survey sites. You won't become a millionaire, though consistent and full profiles can earn you $100 a month. Check these 3 sites out below.

9. Sign up with IPoll Mobile. Download the free IPoll App on your IPhone. Ipoll will alert you when a Survey is available in your area. It usually involves going to a place like Starbucks, Krogers, or Radio Shack. You take a picture or record a short video. You will receive $1.00-$15.00 for your time.
IPoll.com rocks.

10. Sell old books, textbooks, and NEW magazines to Half Price Books. Before you sell them, ask the cashier if they are overstocked. If they are, go to another one. Prices paid for your books might vary greatly.

Good Luck. Hopefully with these tips you will have a cash flow soon.

Best,
K Lukes
